The Scotch-Brite™ Star is a durable, very fine grade aluminum oxide surface conditioning material that is cut to provide consistent pressure for cleaning or finishing inside diameters of piping or tubes.Scotch-Brite Stars are made of aluminum oxide mineral and are available in a variety of grades. Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Stars are durable surface conditioning material that is cut so that the tips are able to provide a consistent pressure for cleaning or finishing inside diameters of piping or tubes. Stars are load resistant and offer good conformability and leave a good finish.
